The artistic performance “Between Heaven and Earth: Being” by Annabelle Wimmer Bakic is about the importance of swinging for humans, as both an everyday and ritual act. When the artist, the participants and the visitors rocking, community, cooperation and diversity are created in unity.
Being present means being at the ultimate point of being: full of perception, presence, and intensity. This point is the interface between past and future. Everything is decided here. The performance of swinging enables you to experience yourself — the joy, the momentum, the feeling of freedom. Perception opens up, because to live is to experience. This physical experience has become an important asset in an increasingly digitalized and virtual world.
Swinging opens up your own space, strength and freedom become noticeable and expand your own limitations: thoughts become free, everyday life is solved. The result is a space of imagination and possibilities, which levels out by opening outwards (with the momentum forwards) and concentrating on the inside (with the swing backwards).
Above and below, heaven and earth, past and future are combined in momentum and form a flowing unity. In rocking together, individual strength and collective community are not experienced as opposites, but as poles of one's own being. This makes swinging a symbol of connection, unity and wholeness.
The Alpine Spring Academy performance “Between Heaven and Earth: Being” is about the question: Where do I come from and where do I want to go? What do I bring with me and where do I go? What are my values and what are the potentials? These central issues are essential for the creative development of the Alpine region, because quality and added value, innovation and sustainability can and should be experienced as a uniform process and go hand in hand, like the swings of HUTSCHN, which are rocked during the performance. Swinging therefore stands for development, creativity and growth. It becomes a symbol of a valuable and fruitful future.
Since ancient times and all over the world, this meaning of swinging has been a magical ritual: Like a common thread, it weaves through the ages and the most diverse cultures of the world. Everywhere with the same context of meaning. It is found in the Alps, the Mediterranean region, the Baltic States, Eastern Europe, Siberia, Nepal, Thailand and India. A ritual to solve the old, to bring about new things, to make a good future possible, to emphasize something bright and to give off something binding.
The performance highlights this cross-cultural aspect of swinging: traditional diversity and universal values become a whole: it is about the idea of unity in diversity, individual strength for a community and the potential of connection and networking through communication.
Swinging is experienced as a collective value that likes to connect many levels. The performance thus becomes a universal language, a global means of communication, and art a form of language that is able to connect divisive things and creates awareness. Through experience, the performance opens up perception and thus the space of awareness, creativity and inspiration. These are the forces that have made humans exceptional beings and have always determined human development. The performance has become a universal ritual. Because to be or not to be is a question of one's own consciousness. Like a wanderer between people, worlds and times, Annabelle combines the different levels of performance to create overarching human-collective values and brings them into the present through personal and collaborative experiences.

As a cooperation between the Bad Reichenhall Art Academy and CreativeAlps It will be held for the first time in 2019.
In montan-urban dialogue and at the interface of art, creative economies, crafts and regional development, a resonance space is being created for rethinking alpine issues. The project addresses “young alpine people” with different professional and biographical backgrounds: philosophers, artists, architects, scenographers, designers. The creativealps academy takes place as a think & do project in cross-border cooperation with ARGE Kultur, the Salzburg Literature Festival and the Salzburg Mountain Film Festival.
The events of the Creative Alps Academy take place in cooperation with the program CreativeAlps at ARGE Kultur Salzburg instead of. In the medium of film, literature and music in the area of tension between aesthetic, practical and cultural-theoretical expertise, the potential of traditional and contemporary alpine culture for new concepts of a “good life” in the mountains is explored.
