The Bregenzerwald is known far beyond the Alps as a “model region” when it comes to pioneering topics such as architecture, crafts, design, cuisine or social formats. A new project is now enriching the Austrian region in Vorarlberg: The land of swings.
The first six Hutschn were born in Damüls Faschina and the Gossen Walser Valley
Set up, can only be reached on foot at an altitude of up to 1850 meters. Breathtaking mountain views included. Tourism Director Mathias Klocker absolutely wants to motivate other regions to help shape this project and create an interface between people and nature.
The swings are not simply a place to sit; rather, they are an invitation to change perspective, an opportunity to constantly refocus on the surrounding area through continuous forward and backward movement and incorporate impressions gained. To follow the child's impulse to simply sit on, push yourself off and swing off, to set your own body and the world in motion. A Hutschn is more than just a swing, it stands for a way of life. And everyone who comes by is welcome to feel it.
For a long time, we had the vision of sharing this swing lifestyle with more people — and with more regions. With the “Land of Swings”, Hutschn is launching a cross-Alpine project. What could be a better starting point for this than the visionary Damüls Faschina in the Bregenz Forest?!
We are already talking to other regions and maybe the project will develop into a European swing hiking trail across the Alps.
